Wwii jaapn japanese samurai katana sword in scabbard. Acquired from the estate of a wwii veteran.

Total length is 33 3/8 inches, measured straight line from end of handle to tip of sword. The wood scabbard has large splits on each side as well sa some wood loss i show the lesser crack in my closeup-the other side is a thinner but much longer crack-virtually the entire length but the scabbard is still very much intact. Blade appears to me to be in good (+) condition with a few small spots of meatl discoloration/spotting-not bad.

Hence, i retract my good (+) condition assessment of the blade. Also, the hand gaurd (? ) appears to have a little foreign matter/crud-it shows in the photos i haven't picked at it. Nonetheless, still a real looker and great piece.
