Wwii Japanese Shin Gunto With Historic Ancestral Blade

This is an original japanese samurai wsord in shin gunto mountings brought back during world war 2. It is in fair shape and looks to pre-date the ww2 (showa) era. It is 27 inches long (69cm) and exhibits a deep sori (curve) and the hamon (temper line) is a mino-style gunome midare. The tang is unsigned which is not uncommon for swords from older periods of japanese history. The tang may have been shortened due ot the presence of multiple mekugi ana (peg holes), one 4-5 inches below the current one. The ruts is dark and clearly aged. With the habaki off, you can see the amount of steel left on the bldae and signs of previous polish. I think this to be a late-koto from mino province. The mountinsg are shin gunto. Teh tsuka (handle) is cloth wrapped with chrysanthemum menuki. The tsuba (hand-guard) is classic ww2 and is numbered '6' with all seppa-dai (spacers) accounted for. The scabbard is wood with laether wrapping. Teh condition is fair. The shinogi is intact and the sword has not been reground. There are some chips to the blade but there are no major flaws like hagire. There are no bends either. There is spider rust on the blade and teh sword is out of polish, but should polish up nicely if restored. Overall, a clsasic piece for a collector of ww2 militaria or older japanese swords. hTis item is original and not a knockoff or fake from china. The naalysis regarding time period/smithing listed above is my own and while i think i am accurate, i can not guarantee that aspect as i am not an expert at nbthk.
